The glass container is generally a very stable packaging even for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, since glass reacts less with the content than many plastic materials. When using concentrated essential oils or highly alcoholic blends, however, we recommend always performing your own compatibility test, particularly with the spray mechanism (sealing, evenness of spraying, smooth operation of the pump) and monitoring the behaviour of the product during longer-term storage.

The packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are followed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the bottle and the spray pump mechanically as thoroughly as possible, rinse them and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured – plant-based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely at room temperature. Only then refill the packaging, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and maintain the stability of the final product.

To preserve the quality of the content, we recommend storing the filled bottle in a dry, clean environment at a stable room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Always close the spray pump carefully after use to minimise access of air and dust. For products with a higher content of essential oils or other sensitive substances, it is advisable to store the packaging rather in closed cupboards or drawers. Do not leave the bottle for a long time in the bathroom in a place with increased humidity and fluctuating temperature, to prevent condensation and an impact on the stability of the formulation.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to local waste sorting rules and the information given in the product parameters. The glass bottle usually only needs to be emptied, possibly rinsed, and placed in the container intended for glass according to its colour. The spray pump and any plastic components are sorted separately according to the material type stated in the parameter table for the product – they usually belong in the container for plastic. Before recycling, it is advisable to separate the individual parts of the packaging to facilitate their proper processing in the recycling system.
