FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this glass bottle suitable for products containing essential oils?

Glass packaging is generally very well tolerated by formulations containing essential oils, since glass is a stable and chemically resistant material. However, for highly concentrated or undiluted essential oils we recommend testing the prepared blend first in a small trial batch, checking for any changes in colour, scent or viscosity, and only then pouring the full amount of product into the bottle.

Can I reuse this dropper bottle for different products?

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed, but we recommend reserving it for the same type of product (for example always an oil serum or always the same type of cosmetic). Before each new filling, the bottle and the dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected – suitable products include for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the packaging to dry completely before refilling.

How should I fill the bottle correctly so that the dropper works without problems?

When filling, we recommend leaving sufficient free space at the top (the so-called “headspace”) so that the dropper can safely draw up the product and to avoid over-tightening or forcing out the contents when closing. Fill the bottle slowly, ideally using a funnel or dosing pipette, to minimise the formation of bubbles. After filling, tighten the closure with the dropper firmly, but do not over-tighten the thread in order not to damage the seal.

How should I clean and disinfect the packaging before the next use?

First rinse the glass container with a suitable solvent (for example a vegetable oil for oil-based formulations), then wash it with warm water and a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. After washing, use a disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, which you spray or pour into the bottle, leave to act and then allow to evaporate completely. Clean the rubber and plastic parts of the dropper gently, without using very hot water, in order to preserve their functionality.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle the glass packaging if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic rinsing, sort the glass bottle into the container designated for glass. Separate the plastic and rubber parts of the dropper (pipette, rubber bulb, closure) from the glass and dispose of them in the appropriate mixed or plastic waste according to local sorting rules. By following these principles, you support an environmentally friendly approach and facilitate subsequent recycling of the materials.
