Is this glass bottle also suitable for products containing alcohol or essential oils?

The glass bottle with spray pump is generally also suitable for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, since glass has good chemical resistance. However, we always recommend performing your own compatibility test of the specific formula with the selected packaging – in particular testing long-term storage, sprayer performance, sealing, and the consistency of the mist. Before filling a larger batch of product, it is advisable to prepare a trial sample and monitor the packaging and contents over time.

Can I reuse this bottle for different products?

The packaging can be reused provided that strict hygiene rules are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle and sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying and evaporation of the alcohol is the bottle ready for refilling. From a hygiene point of view, we do not recommend mixing different types of products in one packaging without a thorough intermediate step of cleaning and disinfection.

How can I best clean this bottle before further use?

Before reuse, we recommend disassembling the bottle – separating the glass body from the sprayer. The glass container can be washed with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and then rinsed thoroughly so that no residues of the original product or the cleaner remain. It is then necessary to carry out disinfection using alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Clean the sprayer gently by flushing it with a suitable medium and allow it to dry thoroughly so that the spraying of the new product is not affected.

How should I properly recycle the packaging if I decide not to reuse it?

If you do not wish to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the instructions given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website. The glass body of the bottle is usually sorted into the container designated for glass, according to local waste-sorting rules. It is advisable to separate the plastic sprayer from the glass container; its further sorting depends on the specific material marking stated in the product parameters. Before placing it in sorted waste, it is advisable to empty any product residues as much as possible and at least roughly rinse the packaging to minimize contamination of the recycling stream.
