Dark opaque glass helps limit light penetration to the contents, therefore the bottle is suitable for most oil blends, serums and preparations with more sensitive components that require more stable conditions during storage. For very specific or highly sensitive formulations, we recommend complementing the protection with appropriate storage in a shaded, dry and cooler place, in line with the recommendations of the manufacturer of the product itself.

The dropper is designed mainly for more fluid to medium-viscosity preparations where the contents can be dosed drop by drop or in smaller amounts. With very thick oils or viscous blends, the flow may be slower or less smooth, so we recommend always performing a trial filling and testing the dosing on a small sample of the product before the final filling of a larger batch.

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles and appropriate cleaning are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using preparations such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example products available on Handymade in the disinfection category: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after complete drying and airing is the bottle ready for further safe use.

After emptying the contents, we recommend first rinsing the bottle mechanically with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent to remove residues of the original product. It is then appropriate to use an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which helps eliminate microbial contamination and grease residues. Leave the solution to act in the container for a short time, then pour it out and leave the bottle to dry thoroughly upside down. Only after it is completely dry can you fill the container again with a new product.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information given in the product parameters on the Handymade website. In most cases, the glass part can be placed in a container designated for glass once product residues have been removed and the closure has been separated. The dropper and any plastic or rubber components must be sorted according to their material identification, or handed over at a collection yard if required by the local waste management system. In this way, you will contribute to more careful use of resources and more sustainable use of packaging.
