Yes, the glass bottle can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the packaging and, depending on the nature of the product, also disinfect it. For disinfection, we recommend using an appropriate alcohol-based product, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying is the bottle ready again for filling with a new formulation.

Dark, opaque glass helps limit the direct penetration of light to the product, which is advantageous for cosmetics with an increased content of light-sensitive substances. It contributes to the stability of colour, fragrance and active ingredients. For very sensitive formulations, however, we recommend always testing the behaviour of the product over time and storing it according to the recommendations of the formulation manufacturer.

The glass body of the bottle should first be rinsed with a suitable residual solvent (for example oil for oil-based products), then washed with a mild cleansing agent and hot water and rinsed thoroughly. After drying, we recommend disinfecting the inner surface with alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. The dispenser should be rinsed with water and then with alcohol, and the mechanism needs to be pressed several times so that the inner part is also cleaned. After complete drying, the packaging is ready for further use.

If you decide not to use the packaging repeatedly, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the types of materials used, as stated in the product parameters. The glass part can generally be placed in a container intended for glass after removing product residues. The dispenser is composed of a combination of several materials, therefore it is advisable to follow local waste sorting rules – in most cases it belongs in mixed waste or separately collected plastic waste, according to the recommendations of the collection company. Before handing over for recycling, it is always advisable to at least roughly rinse the bottle so that no product residues remain in it.
