Yes, the packaging can be reused, provided that hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the cap must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After cleaning, allow all parts to dry completely to minimise the risk of microbial contamination of the new fill.

How should I properly clean the bottle before first use?

Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent, thoroughly rinsing it with drinking water and then disinfecting it, for example using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the glass and the cap to drain and dry completely at room temperature. Only then fill the bottle with the final product, to avoid dilution or alteration of the formulation by residual water.

How can I dispose of or recycle the packaging in an environmentally friendly way if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and the information given in the product parameters. After thorough emptying and rinsing, the glass bottle is usually placed in the container designated for glass, while the aluminium cap should be sorted according to the instructions for metal packaging. Always follow the recycling pictogram and description in the parameter table for the respective product on Handymade and the recommendations of your local collection system.
