Sort the closure made of plastic or other material according to local waste sorting rules – usually into a container for plastics or mixed waste if it is not possible to recycle the material separately. Always remove excessive cosmetic residues before recycling so as not to contaminate the recycling stream itself.

The base material – glass – is generally stable with common cosmetic oils and alcohol-containing solutions. However, it is recommended to perform your own compatibility test, in which you fill a smaller amount of product into the bottle, choose the appropriate closure or dropper and observe any changes over several days: discolouration, change in odour, release of particles from the closure or deterioration of tightness. With such a test you will verify that the packaging is suitable for your specific formulation even during long-term storage.
