Glass bottle – vial with thick base represents a professional solution for packaging cosmetic and laboratory liquids where precise and hygienic handling of the contents is required. High‑quality clear glass allows good visual control of the product and is suitable for packaging serums, active ingredients, experimental formulations and smaller test samples.
This type of vial is ideal for various liquid and low‑viscosity formulations. The thick base improves the stability of the packaging on the work surface and on the shelf, while at the same time providing an aesthetically premium look. The glass is chemically resistant, does not react with the contents and, thanks to the smooth inner surface, helps to minimise the risk of contamination or undesirable interactions between the formulation and the packaging.
Glass vials of this type are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators), depending on the parameters selected when ordering. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – check the sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with your specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached packaging quality certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass bottle can be safely reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol‑based product, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant‑based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and preserves the stability of the new formulation.
First mechanically remove residues of the original product, then wash the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly. After drying, we recommend disinfecting the inner and outer surface with alcohol, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant‑based. Only after the alcohol has completely evaporated is the bottle ready for new filling.
Glass is generally a very stable material and is suitable for formulations with a higher proportion of alcohol or active substances, provided that these substances do not damage the closure or sealing used. For new or concentrated formulations, however, we always recommend performing your own stability test – fill a smaller trial amount, monitor any changes in colour, odour and viscosity and check whether the sealing or dropper is affected.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the types of materials listed in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle usually belongs in the container intended for glass after you have removed any product residues. Any plastic or metal closure must be sorted according to its material (plastic/metal), if the local collection system allows this. Before handing it over for collection, it is advisable to at least roughly rinse the packaging so that no larger product residues remain inside.
The simplest way is to use the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on the relevant category, a detailed filtering option appears at the top of the page, where you can select a combination of parameters such as neck type, size, colour or material. In this way, you will quickly find bottles, jars or other containers that meet the technical requirements and the visual style of your product.
