The glass roll-on bottle is a practical and elegant packaging designed for precise, localized application of liquid preparations. Thanks to the roll-on system, it is suitable for packaging products that require controlled dosing without unnecessary waste and direct application to the skin. High-quality glass provides good chemical resistance to common cosmetic formulations and helps protect the contents from external influences.
The bottle is designed to combine comfortable handling, precise application, and reusable usability. It is suitable for liquid and slightly viscous products that need a clean and practical form of packaging – whether cosmetic preparations, aromatherapeutic blends, or other specialized formulations.
Glass roll-on bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters, typically with metal or plastic roll-on balls and the corresponding overcaps. They are also compatible with other functional closures available in the range, such as screw caps, droppers, atomisers/sprayers or practical applicators – always according to the specific combination stated with the product.
The combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking sealing, dosing, stability and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (especially when using a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol).

Yes, the glass roll-on bottle is suitable for repeated use, provided basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the packaging, rinsing it, and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation – for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or ethanol. For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after the packaging has completely dried is it appropriate to proceed with refilling.
The roll-on bottle is ideal especially for liquid to slightly viscous preparations that can be spread smoothly using the ball applicator. Most often these are oil perfumes, aromatherapeutic blends, light facial and body oils, serums for local application, or fluid deodorants. Products that are too thick or gel-like may reduce the smooth rolling of the ball, so we recommend always testing the real behaviour of the formulation in the specific bottle.
Before refilling, it is advisable to first clean the bottle and the roll-on mechanism mechanically (remove residues of the original product), then rinse them with a suitable cleaning solution and with clean water. After washing, it is important to use an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, and let all parts dry thoroughly. Packaging prepared in this way reduces the risk of microbial contamination of the new product.
It is recommended to store the bottle in a dry, clean place, protected from direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations. Always close the bottle tightly to minimize the evaporation of volatile substances (for example essential oils) and to prevent the ingress of impurities. For formulations with a higher proportion of sensitive components, it is advisable to choose a cooler and more stable environment, which will extend the shelf life of the product.
If you decide not to continue reusing the bottle, it is recommended to recycle it properly according to the material specified in the product parameters on the Handymade website. The glass part can, after emptying and basic cleaning from product residues, be placed in the appropriate container for sorted glass waste. The plastic or metal components of the roll-on mechanism and the closure should be separated according to the material type (the information can be found in the product parameter table) and placed into the corresponding recycling stream in accordance with local waste sorting rules.
