The glass bottle with screw-on aluminium closure represents a professional solution for packaging liquid preparations where precise dosing, protection of the composition, and a representative appearance of the final product are important. The darker tinted glass helps to limit light exposure, which helps protect more sensitive components from degradation and supports longer-term stability of the contents. This type of packaging is suitable for artisanal cosmetics manufacturers, laboratory use, and smaller brands that are looking for a combination of aesthetic and functional packaging solutions.
The glass packaging can be reused if handled correctly and if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the closure must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or etanol 96 % denaturovany rastlinný, which you can find in the Handymade.sk range at /ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ and /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/. Only after complete drying and airing is the packaging ready for safe reuse.
Before first filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly with water, and allowing it to dry. It is then advisable to disinfect the inner and outer surfaces of the container and closure using an alcohol solution, for example with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol-based products available on Handymade.sk. After disinfection, the packaging must be allowed to dry completely and air out in order to avoid undesirable effects on the fragrance or stability of your product.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, it is advisable to recycle it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic rinsing to remove residues, separate the glass bottle from the metal closure. Place the glass in the container intended for glass waste and the metal cap in the appropriate recycling container according to local rules. Specific recommendations for recycling are always given in the parameter table for the respective product on the Handymade.sk website, and we recommend following them.
When filling oil-based, alcohol-based, or otherwise active preparations, we recommend first testing the compatibility of the contents with the glass and the closure used in a smaller trial batch. Pay particular attention to any discolouration, change in odour, sedimentation, or reaction of the sealing material in the closure. A suitably chosen filling technique and leaving an adequate headspace in the upper part of the bottle are also important to avoid leakage when closing and to ensure comfortable dosing. For long-term storage, it is advisable to choose a dry and darker place to preserve the quality of the contents.
