Yes, the packaging can be reused if handled appropriately. However, with every refilling it is necessary to observe basic hygiene rules – the bottle as well as the spray mechanism must be thoroughly cleaned before use and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol‑based preparation (for example with products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or 96% denatured plant ethanol). Only after the inner surfaces have completely dried is the bottle ready for refilling.

It is most suitable for liquid preparations with low to medium viscosity that need to be applied evenly in the form of a spray. These are mainly facial and body waters, refreshing and hydrating mists, hair tonics, aromatic room sprays or disinfectant solutions for hands. With thicker emulsions or oils, the character of spraying may change, so it is always advisable to carry out a trial filling and test the resulting spray pattern.

The spray pump should be kept clean and after each use you should make sure that no product residues remain around the neck and thread area. With formulations containing oils or plant extracts, deposits may form over time, so it is practical to occasionally flush the dip tube and mechanism with a small amount of clean water or alcohol and press several times so that the internal system is cleaned through. This reduces the risk of clogging, leaks and changes in the spray characteristics.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass body of the bottle is generally intended for sorting into the glass container, while the plastic parts of the spray pump belong in plastic waste. Before disposal, it is advisable to pour out any remaining contents, briefly rinse the packaging and, where possible, separate the glass part from the plastic spray pump so that the individual materials can be efficiently recovered within the recycling system.
