Yes, the container can be reused with proper handling. However, before each new filling it is essential to follow basic hygiene principles – clean the bottle thoroughly and then disinfect it. For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Only after it is completely dry and aired is the bottle ready to be refilled.

First we recommend rinsing the bottle with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent suitable for the given type of contents, in order to remove residues of the original product. Then rinse the inner and outer surfaces with clean water and let them drain. After mechanical cleaning, the disinfection step is important – you can treat the container with alcohol, for example using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, allow the bottle to dry completely at room temperature so that any remaining alcohol can evaporate.

The plastic material of the bottle should not be exposed to high temperatures. Contact with hot water, boiling or washing in a dishwasher may lead to deformation of the container, reduced tightness of the closure or a change in the shape of the walls. For this reason, the container is not recommended for washing in a dishwasher or for thermal sterilization. For cleaning and disinfection it is appropriate to use lukewarm water, a mild cleaning agent and then an alcohol-based disinfectant without exposure to excessive heat.

If you decide not to use the bottle any further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting regulations. Before placing it in the appropriate bin, remove any remaining contents and rinse the container as thoroughly as possible so that no significant product residues remain. Then sort the container according to the recycling symbol and the material specified in the product parameters on Handymade – most often into the bin intended for plastic waste. By sorting correctly, you enable the material to be further processed and you minimize the environmental burden.
