Glass bottle – medicine bottle with safety cap represents a professional packaging for products where precise handling, protection of the contents and controlled access are important. Thanks to high‑quality glass and a special closure, it is suitable for filling various liquid and partially viscous formulations where higher barrier protection and product stability during storage and use are desired.
This type of bottle is popular for packaging cosmetic preparations, concentrated blends and specialized solutions that require reliable closure. The safety cap helps reduce the risk of unintentional opening, thereby supporting safer handling in households, cosmetic facilities and laboratory conditions.
The standalone glass medicine bottle is designed to be compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters in the Handymade packaging category. Depending on the specific project, you can combine it with screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators, which make it possible to adapt the dosing to the type of product and method of use.
The combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, dosing, behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation and stability during storage.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass bottle – medicine bottle with safety cap is designed to be suitable also for formulations with a higher proportion of active ingredients, provided they are compatible with this type of glass. Before final use, we always recommend carrying out your own stability test – fill a smaller amount of the product, monitor any changes in colour, scent or viscosity and verify the functionality of the closure during longer‑term storage. For very specific or more aggressive ingredients, follow the recommendations of the raw material supplier.
The glass medicine bottle can be reused, provided you follow proper hygienic practices and the packaging is not mechanically damaged. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol, for example using the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured vegetable. After disinfection, allow the container and cap to dry completely at room temperature. When changing the type of product (for example from oil‑based to water‑based), we recommend particularly thorough cleaning and considering whether reuse is appropriate in terms of the stability and safety of the final formulation.
First, clean the glass bottle mechanically – thoroughly rinse any residues of the original product with warm water and a suitable mild cleaning agent, then rinse well so that no detergent residues remain in the container. After basic washing, it is advisable to disinfect the packaging with alcohol, for example using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or 96% vegetable ethanol. After applying the alcohol, allow the packaging and cap to air‑dry in a clean, dust‑protected place. In professional production, also follow your internal hygiene and GMP procedures.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend sorting it into separated waste according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle is usually disposed of in the glass container, while the cap – depending on the type of material and local sorting rules – belongs in the appropriate container for plastics or mixed waste. Before handing the packaging over for recycling, remove any product residues and labels, where possible, and follow the local recommendations of the waste collection company. In this way, you will support a more sustainable approach to natural resources and reduce the amount of waste.
On the Handymade website, you can use the advanced filter, which helps you quickly find the most suitable bottle, jar or pot for a specific project. The advanced filter is located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected packaging category. You can clearly filter the packaging according to several parameters – for example according to neck type, size, colour or material. By combining these filters, you can easily narrow down the selection to only those containers that meet your technical, design and production requirements.
