Product description

Floral water, hydrosol, Damask rose in organic quality is a luxurious aqueous cosmetic raw material obtained by steam distillation of Damask rose petals, Rosa damascena. During distillation, a gently aromatic aqueous phase is formed with a typical rose fragrance and a trace content of volatile components. Compared to rose essential oil, rose hydrosol is less concentrated, water-based and suitable for direct incorporation into facial and body formulations.
Organic rose hydrosol is particularly suitable for dry, sensitive, mature, dull, reddened and comfort-demanding skin. It is used as a facial water, toner, facial mist, water phase in serums, creams, emulsions, masks and mild cleansing products.

Key benefits

  • Premium floral water – suitable for luxurious facial, body and hair care cosmetics.
  • Suitable for sensitive and dry skin – supports a pleasant feeling of softness and comfort.
  • Popular for mature skin – suitable for serums, creams and toners with moisturizing and regeneration-focused components.
  • Natural rose fragrance – gives formulations a delicate floral character.
  • Suitable as a water phase – can replace part or all of the distilled water.
  • Good combinability – suitable with hyaluronic acid, peptides, panthenol, betaine and ceramide emulsions.

Suitable for products such as

  • rose facial toners for dry, sensitive and mature skin,
  • hydrating serums with hyaluronic acid and glycerin,

  • It is recommended to add during the cooling phase (at a temperature below 40 °C).
  • In anti-age formulations: combines well with peptides, niacinamide at a suitable pH, panthenol, allantoin and a lipid phase containing ceramides.
  • Preservation: for aqueous products always set up an appropriate preservative system.

  • Odour: delicate, floral, rosy, naturally slightly sweet.
  • Nature of the raw material: hydrosol, floral water, aqueous aromatic component.

  • For the eye area the formulation needs to be designed specifically for this area.
  • Protect from contamination, heat and direct light.
  • Store in a well-closed container, ideally in a cool, dark place.
  • In the finished product, check pH, stability and preservation.

FAQ

Is rose hydrosol suitable for a facial mist for mature skin?

Yes, it is suitable for mists with moisturizing substances, for example with glycerin, betaine or hyaluronic acid.

Can it be used in formulations with peptides?

Yes, it can form the water phase of a peptide serum, provided the final pH is suitable for the specific peptide as well as for the preservative system.

Is it suitable for unfragranced products?

Yes, but you need to take into account the natural rose fragrance, which may be more pronounced in simple products.

Can it be combined with oils?

Yes, in emulsions it forms the water phase, while oils belong to the oil phase. A suitable emulsifier is required.

Is it suitable for a mask for immediate use?
