For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol, which help to ensure the cleanliness of the inner surface before the next use. After applying the disinfectant, allow the packaging to dry thoroughly.

Before refilling, we recommend proceeding in two steps. First, remove the residues of the original product using warm water and a suitable glass-friendly cleaning agent in order to remove both oily and water-based components. Then use an alcohol-based disinfectant – for example IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based – and thoroughly rinse or spray the inside and the thread of the packaging. After disinfection, allow the bottle and the cap to dry completely in a clean and dust-free place, and only then proceed to the new filling, in order to maintain the stability and cleanliness of your product.

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the information given in the product parameter table on the Handymade website. The glass body of the packaging is usually sorted into the appropriate glass container according to local regulations, and the metal aluminium cap should be separated from the bottle and placed in the container intended for metal packaging or according to the recommendations of your waste management system. Before recycling, it is advisable to remove any product residues as much as possible by rinsing, to facilitate the recycling process and minimise odours in the collection containers.
