Glass bottles are in general very suitable for packaging concentrated serums, active substances and oil blends, because glass is a stable and inert material. Nevertheless, we recommend that you perform your own compatibility test with every new formulation – check the behaviour of the product in the packaging over several days to weeks, both under normal storage conditions and at a slightly elevated temperature. In this way you verify that the composition, viscosity and colour of the product remain stable.

The packaging can be reused if strict hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and all parts of the closure must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 %. Disinfection helps to minimize microbial contamination and extend the shelf life of the product. When switching to another type of formulation (for example from oil-based to water-based), it is important to clean the packaging particularly thoroughly so that the new product is not affected by residues of the original one.

When filling, we recommend using a funnel or a suitable dosing/filling aid to minimize running down along the neck. Do not fill the bottle up to the very rim, but leave a small air gap, which reduces the risk of the product being forced out when screwing on the dropper. After filling, before first use, check whether the dropper is sealing and that no leakage of the contents occurs when the packaging is gently turned upside down. In this way you verify correct seating of the closure and also the suitable viscosity of the formulation for this type of dosing.

We recommend storing products in the bottle in a dry, cooler and more shaded place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Regularly check that the dropper is firmly tightened and that the bottle is not contaminated around the neck area. For more sensitive active substances, it is suitable to keep the packaging in a closed cabinet or box, thereby limiting the effect of light and air during handling. Stable storage conditions help to maintain the consistency and efficacy of the final product.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle can usually be placed, after emptying and basic rinsing, in a glass recycling container, while the components of the dropper (plastic, rubber part, possibly metal) should be separated and sorted according to local separate collection rules. Before recycling, remove excess product residues – this will make material processing easier and contribute to a more efficient recycling process.
