Yes, the packaging can be reused with proper care and adherence to hygiene principles. Before each refilling, the bottle and all parts of the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with an appropriate product, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after complete drying and airing is the packaging ready for refilling, which minimizes the risk of microbial contamination and product deterioration.

First we recommend rinsing the bottle with the remaining raw material or a suitable solvent, then washing it in warm water with a mild detergent and rinsing thoroughly with clean water. The spray pump should be sprayed through several times with clean water to flush the inner channel. After washing, disinfection is necessary – for this purpose you can use IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol 96 % to rinse the inside of the bottle and, if needed, to spray through the pump as well. Before refilling, allow all parts to dry completely.

The spray pump is most suitable for low-viscosity liquids with a consistency similar to water or light solutions. These include, for example, facial toners, hydrolats, facial refreshing mists, hair tonics, home and fabric sprays, or aromatherapeutic blends without a high content of heavy oils. With more viscous preparations there may be impaired suction or nozzle clogging, so we recommend always carrying out a trial filling and testing how the specific formulation behaves in the packaging.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend emptying it as much as possible and removing product residues. The glass part of the bottle can then be placed in a container intended for separated glass collection according to local recycling rules. The plastic part of the spray pump should be separated and sorted according to the type of plastic listed in the product parameters on the Handymade website. Always adapt the exact sorting and disposal method to the material composition specified in the parameter table for the product and to the recommendations of your collection system.

We recommend storing filled containers in a dry, clean environment protected from direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations. The bottles should always be properly closed with the spray pump and any protective overcap in place in order to minimize contamination and the evaporation of volatile components. For sensitive natural formulations, shorter storage periods and the use of smaller volumes are advisable so that the product is used within an optimal time frame.
