Glass bottle – square medicine bottle is a universal packaging suitable for brands, artisan manufacturers as well as laboratory use, when you need to safely and professionally package liquid or more fluid preparations. The durable glass provides a stable environment for more sensitive formulations and, thanks to the smooth walls, the bottle is easy to label and clean. It represents a reliable choice for smaller batches of products, samples or concentrated solutions, where precise application and control over the contents are important.
Before the first filling we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle from any impurities and dust, then rinsing it and allowing it to dry completely. For safe use with cosmetics or tinctures it is also suitable to disinfect the packaging – for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol intended for this purpose. Yes, the glass packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. After using up the contents, first rinse the bottle thoroughly, remove the residues of the original product and let it dry. Before refilling, it is important to always clean and disinfect the packaging – preparations such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based are suitable, for example. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and extend the stability of your new formulation.
The closure should be selected according to the type of product and the desired method of application. For oil-based and concentrated serums, pipette droppers are practical, for water-based solutions classic screw caps or fine sprayers often work well, and for highly concentrated tinctures precise dropper inserts are suitable. On Handymade you will find recommended compatible closures and dispensers for each packaging; nevertheless, we recommend carrying out your own leakage and dosing test with your specific formula.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle is in most cases placed into the glass container, while plastic or metal closures should be sorted separately according to their material. Before discarding, empty the packaging as much as possible, remove the remaining contents and, if possible, separate the glass from the other components. In this way you will support efficient waste sorting and reduce the environmental burden.
