Gloss Black Glass Bottle, White Tamper Evident Safety Cap & Dropper, 10 ml

This glossy black glass bottle with a nominal volume of 10 ml, fitted with a long plastic dropper insert and a white ribbed safety cap, is intended for small amounts of preparations that are dispensed drop by drop. It is most often filled with essential oil blends, oil and facial serums, fragrance oils, tinctures or samples for testing a formulation. The opaque black glass blocks light, so light-sensitive contents are well protected. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and is supplied with all three parts, so there is nothing else to buy.

What the set consists of

• Glass medicine bottle, glossy black – a glass bottle body with an 18/410 threaded neck. The term “medicine bottle” describes the shape, not the intended use; the glass can be washed thoroughly and reused.
• Plastic dropper insert, 18 mm, long – a clear PP part that is pressed into the neck after filling. When the bottle is tilted, the contents then come out in individual drops, without pouring.
• Plastic safety cap, white, ribbed – a PE closure with an 18/410 thread that is screwed onto the neck over the inserted dropper. The ribbed surface gives a good grip and can be tightened even with oily hands.

What it is suitable for

Drop-by-drop dispensing makes this set a packaging choice for preparations that are used in small, precise amounts. These include essential oil blends for a diffuser or for dilution in a carrier oil, concentrated facial oil serums, nail and cuticle oils, fragrance oils and beard oils. It also works well for samples: 10 ml is enough for letting customers try out a new formulation or for comparing several fragrance variants.

The dropper also dispenses thinner liquids, for example alcohol tinctures or herbal infusions. With thicker oils, a drop forms more slowly. Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them leaves room for the dropper insert, which takes up part of the space once inserted, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. The same applies to the dropper insert and the cap, as residual water in the neck would get into the contents. Let the contents cool to room temperature before filling, as glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes.

The dropper insert and the cap are made of plastic. With undiluted essential oils, a high proportion of alcohol or solvents, check how the plastic parts behave with your formulation, especially during longer storage. The bottle can be reused, but it is better to replace the dropper insert with a new one once it has been pulled out of the neck.

Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics; neither the dropper insert nor the cap carries such a declaration.

After use, the glass is recycled as glass and the plastic parts separately as plastic. Remove the dropper insert and the cap from the bottle before disposal.
