The spray pump is designed for the application of liquids with low to medium viscosity, typically toners, aqueous solutions, hydrolats or light sprays for the body, hair and room. Thick gels, creamy emulsions or oils with very high viscosity may reduce the smoothness of dispensing, clog the nozzle or change the spray pattern. For unusually thick formulations, we recommend first testing a small trial quantity and verifying the functionality of the dispensing.

The glass packaging can be reused if hygiene rules are followed, for example for subsequent batches of the same product or for other compatible formulations. Before each new filling, however, it is essential to thoroughly clean and disinfect both the bottle and the spray pump in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and residues of the previous preparation. For disinfection, we recommend using preparations such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which you can find on Handymade.sk, for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, depending on the nature of your formulation and technological process.

The glass part can be rinsed with warm water and a suitable detergent, then thoroughly rinsed with clean water and, if necessary, disinfected with a suitable alcohol solution. For the spray pump, we recommend a gentle flushing with clean water or alcohol to remove product residues and prevent nozzle clogging. After washing, allow all components to dry completely at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Only then reassemble the packaging and fill it with a new product. Avoid mechanical damage to the nozzle and excessive bending of the dip tube.

The glass bottle with spray pump is also suitable for travelling, provided it is properly closed and transported in an upright position. When carrying it, we recommend using a protective case or cosmetic bag to minimise the risk of impact or breakage of the glass. Before travelling, always check that the spray pump is firmly tightened and, if a safety lock or cap is available, make sure it is in place. In the case of air transport, follow the applicable restrictions on the quantity and packaging of liquids in carry-on luggage.

If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend first thoroughly emptying it and removing any remaining contents according to the nature of the product used. Separate the glass part of the bottle from the plastic spray pump and sort the individual components according to the recycling rules listed for the product in the parameter table on Handymade.sk. Glass is generally placed in the glass waste container and plastic parts in the appropriate plastic container, while it is important to follow local waste sorting instructions and the manufacturer’s recommendations specified in the parameters of the respective packaging.
