Product description

The blue glass dropper bottle is a complete set for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid cosmetic preparations. Blue glass reduces light transmission, helping to protect light-sensitive contents such as facial serums with active ingredients, facial oils, essential oil blends, or perfume oils. The small nominal volume of 10 ml is suitable for concentrated preparations used in small doses, for customer samples, and for test batches during formula development.

The dropper with a glossy black collar complements the blue glass both visually and functionally. The packaging looks uniform, the contents are dispensed drop by drop without spilling, and the bottle can be resealed at any time. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. A declaration of conformity and technical documentation are included with the product.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial serums and concentrates – drop dispensing allows measuring a small amount of preparation for a single use and limits the contact of the contents with air and fingers.
  • Facial and hair oils – blue glass slows the effect of light on oxidation-prone oils, and the dropper makes it easy to apply a few drops to the skin or hair ends.
  • Essential oil blends and perfume oils – glass does not react with concentrated fragrance components and does not absorb their scent. The small volume corresponds to typical quantities of such blends.
  • Samples and test batches – the 10 ml volume is enough for testing a formula or for a gift or retail sample without the need to fill a larger container.

How to work with the set

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a flexible silicone bulb, and a threaded collar that screws onto the bottle neck. Squeezing the bulb draws in the contents; releasing it and applying gentle pressure dispenses them drop by drop. The tube length is matched to the bottle height, so it reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be used without unnecessary residue.

When filling, it is useful to distinguish between nominal volume and total volume to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the container is intended for under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve into which the dropper tube submerges after screwing on, and which also allows for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will overflow when the dropper is inserted.

When filling yourself, we recommend doing a test fill with one bottle, attaching the dropper, and verifying that the contents do not leak and that the bulb draws in correctly. Thicker serums and more viscous oils dispense more slowly than water-based tonics.

Good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing both the bottle and the dropper, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in the container could compromise an anhydrous preparation or reduce the stability of an emulsion.
  • Suitable contents – glass is suitable for water-based, alcohol-based, and oil-based preparations. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend testing the behavior of the silicone bulb with the specific formulation, as prolonged contact may affect its elasticity.
  • Glass and heat – glass can withstand normal temperatures during filling, but preparations should be filled cold. A sudden temperature change can damage the glass, and hot contents are also harmful to the silicone bulb.
  • Reuse – after thorough washing and disinfection, both the bottle and the dropper can be used again. When reusing, we recommend checking the bulb to ensure it is not hardened or cracked.
  • Labelling – the smooth cylindrical surface of the bottle allows a label to be applied. Bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications.
  • Recycling – the bottle goes into glass recycling; the dropper is a combination of multiple materials and should be separated from the bottle before disposal.

Closures with the same neck type listed in the specifications, and other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. When using your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing, and container behavior with the specific formulation.

The set is not intended for contact with food. It is used for cosmetic preparations or for technical purposes, not for food-grade oils, syrups, or extracts.

Frequently asked questions

Does the blue glass dropper bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, blue glass reduces light transmission and helps protect light-sensitive preparations, but does not provide a complete light barrier. It is therefore suitable for serums with active ingredients, oxidation-prone oils, and essential oil blends. For particularly sensitive ingredients, it is advisable to store the bottle away from direct sunlight even when using blue glass.
How much can actually be filled into a 10 ml glass dropper bottle?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The total volume up to the neck is slightly larger, and this difference forms the reserve for the submerged dropper tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is inserted.
Is a glass dropper bottle suitable for essential oils?
Yes, glass is suitable for essential oil blends and perfume oils because it does not react with fragrance components and does not absorb their scent. The silicone dropper bulb only comes into contact with the contents during drawing. With concentrated essential oils, however, we recommend monitoring its behavior over time, particularly its elasticity and seal.
Can a glass dropper bottle be washed and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after washing and disinfection with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Before refilling, both parts must be completely dry so that residual water does not compromise an anhydrous preparation. It is worth checking the silicone bulb to ensure it is not hardened or cracked, otherwise the dropper will stop drawing correctly.
Is the 10 ml glass dropper bottle suitable for both water-based tonics and thicker serums?
Yes, the set can be used for water-based, alcohol-based, and oil-based preparations. Thin tonics and hydrosols dispense easily; thicker serums with a thickener or viscous oils draw in and dispense more slowly. With very thick gel preparations, it is advisable to test the dispensing in advance or choose a different type of closure.
