Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test (tightness, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this glass bottle be reused?

Yes, the packaging can be reused with a suitable type of contents, but always only if strict hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be cleaned and thoroughly disinfected, ideally using alcohol-based products such as IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Only after the alcohol has completely dried and aired out is the bottle ready for refilling.

How should I properly clean the bottle before first use?

Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent, then thoroughly rinsing it with drinking water and finally disinfecting it with an alcohol solution, for example using the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, allow the packaging to dry completely at room temperature so that any alcohol residues evaporate.

How can I recycle the glass bottle if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the material composition listed in the product parameters. The glass part can usually be placed, after removing any product residues and the closure, into the container intended for glass collection. The aluminium closure is sorted according to local rules for metal packaging. Before recycling, it is advisable to at least roughly rinse the packaging so that no significant product residues remain.

Is this type of bottle also suitable for thicker or oil-based products?

Yes, the glass bottle is suitable for various oil-based, low to medium viscosity formulations such as oils, serums or tinctures. The key is to choose the correct type of closure or dispensing component that ensures smooth dosing – for example a dropper, a suitable applicator or another accessory compatible with the given neck. Before placing the product on the market, we recommend testing the behaviour of the specific formulation in contact with the selected closure and packaging.
