Product description

Glass bottle, green, black dropper 100 ml is a ready-made packaging and closure set for dispensing liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. It combines a glass vial with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a dropper with a glass tube, black plastic collar and silicone bulb. The green glass reduces part of the light reaching the contents, making it particularly suitable for facial and hair oils, oil serums, blends with essential oils and tinctures — anything used in small doses that benefits from light protection.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and supporting documents are listed with the product. It is suitable for home production as well as small-batch filling, where a consistent appearance and a tamper-evident element are valued.

What the set offers

  • Drop-by-drop dispensing – the glass tube of the dropper draws exactly the amount of preparation needed for a single use, without pouring and without finger contact with the contents. With oil serums and concentrated blends, this means less waste and cleaner use.
  • Light reduction – green glass transmits less light than clear glass, which helps slow down changes in light-sensitive contents, such as oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids or essential oils. It does not, however, replace storage away from direct sunlight.
  • Glass in contact with contents – both the bottle and the dropper tube are made of glass, which does not react with oils, alcohol or essential oils and leaves no odour or discolouration in the preparation.
  • Tamper-evident ring – on first opening, the ring separates and cannot be replaced, so the customer can see that the packaging has not been opened before. When selling your own products, this is a practical element of trustworthiness.
  • Dropper length – the dropper is sized to fit this bottle; the tube reaches deep into the container and the contents can be drawn up comfortably even at lower fill levels.

Nominal and total volume

When filling, it is useful to distinguish two figures. The nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed for standard filling and which appears on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between the two is the headspace into which the dropper tube submerges after the closure is screwed on, and which gives the contents room to expand with temperature changes. Both values are listed in the product specifications.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When the dropper is screwed on, it displaces some of the contents upward, and with an overfilled bottle the preparation will get into the thread, where it becomes sticky and, with oils, makes opening difficult.

Suitable preparations

The dropper works best with contents that flow freely. Particularly suitable are:

  • Facial, hair and body oils – pure vegetable oils as well as blends; drop-by-drop dispensing matches typical usage per application.
  • Oil serums and concentrates – preparations with a higher proportion of active ingredients, where a few drops are the dose.
  • Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – including diluted blends for diffusers or massage oils; the green glass helps protect fragrance compounds from light.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to ethanol and the dropper allows precise measurement.
  • Low-viscosity water-based serums – light serums and tonics dispense well; thicker gels cannot be drawn up by the dropper.

The set is not suitable for creams, thick gels, masks or balms; for those, jars or pump-top bottles are the right choice.

Useful to know

Preparation before first use. Wash both the bottle and the dropper with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse thoroughly, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based preparation shortens its stability and may cause cloudiness.

Glass and temperature. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle. Allow preparations with a warm phase to cool to at least room temperature before filling, or warm the bottle slightly in advance.

Silicone bulb and essential oils. During normal use, the bulb does not come into contact with the contents. However, when the bottle is inverted or when the essential oil content is high, gradual contact may occur. With concentrated essential oil blends, we recommend checking the condition of the closure over time and storing the bottle upright.

The set is intended for cosmetic preparations. It is not declared suitable for contact with food — neither the bottle nor the dropper — so we do not recommend it for household oils or syrups.

Repeated use. Both the bottle and the glass dropper tube can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing the type of contents — for example from essential oils to a facial oil — bear in mind that odours are more difficult to remove from the plastic collar and silicone bulb than from glass.

Labelling. The cylindrical shape of the bottle makes it easy to apply a label around the full circumference. Light or opaque labels stand out against the darker green glass; transparent film labels tend to blend with the colour of the container.

Other closures. The dropper is included as part of the set. If you wish to use the bottle with a different closure, the Handymade range includes caps, spray tops and other closures with the same neck type. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing performance with your specific formulation.

Recycling. The bottle and glass dropper tube go into glass recycling; the plastic collar and silicone bulb should be separated before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle with dropper protect the contents from light?
Partially, yes. Green glass transmits less light than clear glass, which helps slow down oxidation of oils and changes in fragrance compounds. It is not a complete barrier, however, so light-sensitive preparations are still best stored in the dark or away from direct sunlight.
Is the 100 ml glass bottle with dropper suitable for essential oils?
Yes, both the glass bottle and the glass dropper tube are compatible with essential oils and do not react with them. When stored upright as recommended, the silicone bulb and plastic collar do not come into contact with the contents. With undiluted essential oils or blends containing a high proportion of them, we recommend periodically checking the condition of the bulb, as prolonged contact may gradually soften it.
How much preparation fits in the 100 ml dropper bottle?
The bottle is normally filled to the nominal volume, i.e. 100 ml. The physical capacity of the bottle to the brim is slightly larger; however, this difference serves as headspace for the submerged dropper tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled right to the neck, screwing on the dropper will displace some of the contents into the thread and the packaging will not be clean.
Can the glass dropper bottle be used for water-based serums and tonics?
Yes, provided the preparation is sufficiently fluid to be drawn up by the dropper. Light water-based serums and tonics dispense well; thicker gels and emulsions do not. With water-based preparations, do not forget about preservation, as the dropper touches the skin or air with every use and the container itself provides no protection against microbial contamination.
How is the glass dropper bottle cleaned for reuse?
Wash the bottle and glass dropper tube with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Wash the silicone bulb and plastic collar separately and do not soak them in alcohol for extended periods. The tamper-evident ring separates permanently on first opening; with reuse, the packaging will no longer have an intact seal.
