Gloss Black Glass Bottle, Gloss White Dropper, 15 ml

Black glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, which you will appreciate with facial oils, essential oil blends and serums containing light-sensitive ingredients. How the set works

The dropper consists of a white glossy threaded ring, a silicone bulb and a glass tube that reaches into the bottle. Squeezing the bulb draws in the contents, and releasing it dispenses them in individual drops. Once screwed on, the ring sits on the neck and closes the bottle.

Dispensing drop by drop has two advantages with concentrated preparations. Only the amount needed is taken each time, so the product is not wasted or spilled. The contents also do not touch your fingers, and less air gets into the bottle than when pouring from an open neck. With oils that are sensitive to oxidation, this helps to maintain quality for longer.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of the bottle is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you can find it in the product parameters. The difference between the two values is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which takes up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What it is suitable for

• Facial oils and oil serums – dark glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, and the dropper dispenses one to several drops onto the palm.
• Essential oil blends – the small volume and precise dispensing suit the way concentrated blends are used.
• Serums with light-sensitive ingredients – for example, preparations with vitamin C derivatives or retinoids.
• Oils for nails, eyebrows, eyelashes and beard – dispensing directly where needed, without pouring.
• Samples and test batches – a volume of 15 ml is enough to try out a recipe or to make a sample for a customer.

The dropper handles liquid and slightly viscous contents. Thick creams, gels with higher viscosity and preparations with solid particles do not belong in a bottle with a dropper. The tube will not draw them in and the dispensing would be uneven.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the dropper, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Residual water does not belong in an oil-based preparation, and in a water-based preparation it increases the risk of contamination.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well. Hot contents should not be poured into the bottle; let the preparation cool to at least room temperature. The glass tube of the dropper is thin and may break if dropped or under strong pressure, so the dropper should be handled more carefully than an ordinary cap.

With concentrated essential oils and alcohol-based solutions, we recommend checking the tightness of the seal and the behaviour of the silicone bulb over time. Leave a filled bottle to stand for several weeks before filling a larger batch.

Both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough cleaning. When the contents change, especially from a fragranced to an unfragranced preparation, the silicone bulb may not lose the scent, and in that case it is better to replace the dropper. Once empty and rinsed, the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper combines glass, silicone and plastic, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
