Product description
A glass dropper bottle with a nominal volume of 15 ml is a complete set designed for small doses of liquid preparations applied drop by drop. The black glossy glass does not let light through and the dropper enables precise dispensing without contact between the contents and hands. It is particularly suitable for facial serums, face and beard oils, active ingredient concentrates and essential oil blends in carrier oil, where precise dosing and light protection matter.
The set consists of a black glossy glass vial and a dropper in a white-gold finish with a glass tube, silicone bulb and metal ring. The combination looks cohesive with both dark and light labels and pairs well with other black glass packaging if you are building an entire product line.
Key benefits
- Light protection – black glass prevents daylight and artificial light from reaching the contents, which slows the oxidation of oils and the degradation of light-sensitive active ingredients such as retinol, vitamin C in oil form or essential oils.
- Precise dosing – the dropper dispenses drop by drop, so only the required amount of serum or oil is taken and the rest stays sealed in the bottle.
- Hygienic application – the contents are neither scooped out with fingers nor poured out, which reduces contamination with anhydrous as well as water-based serums.
- Chemically resistant glass – glass does not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol-based solutions, making it suitable for blends that would gradually damage a plastic container.
- Small volume for trial batches – 15 ml is practical for samples, test formulations or preparations with a shorter shelf life where you do not want to fill large containers.
Nominal and total volume
With dropper bottles it is important to distinguish two figures. The nominal volume is the volume the container is intended for during normal filling and is also stated on the product label. The total capacity to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is the headspace taken up by the dropper tube once screwed on and the space that allows the contents to expand with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents leak through the thread when the dropper is attached. Both values are listed in the product parameters.
Use of the set
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics, i.e. facial serums, face and beard oils, oil concentrates, essential oil blends in carrier oil, cuticle oils or hair serums. Thanks to the dark glass, it is also suitable for formulations with less stable oils such as rosehip, cranberry or linseed oil.
The dropper is designed for liquids of low to medium viscosity. With thicker oils or gel serums it draws more slowly and produces larger drops, so we recommend testing the behaviour with the specific formulation before filling a larger batch. The dropper can also be used with watery tonics or thin solutions, but expect smaller drops than with oil.
Before the first fill, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely upside down. Rinse the dropper tube in the same way and let it dry. Do not soak the silicone bulb in alcohol any longer than necessary.
Good to know
The food-contact certificate applies to the glass bottle on its own. The dropper does not carry this declaration, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use and we do not recommend it for food applications.
Black glass does not show the fill level. When filling, dose by weight or with a measuring jug, not by eye. It is worth noting on the label or in the instructions that the remaining contents are not visible to the customer. During a test fill, check that the dropper tube reaches deep enough to draw out the last of the contents at the bottom.
Store and transport the bottle upright. Contents that get into the bulb when the bottle is laid down are difficult to wash out, and with essential oils the silicone may soften over time. When shipping finished products, tighten the cap and secure the bottle with shrink wrap or a tamper-evident seal.
Glass is sensitive to impact and sudden temperature changes, so allow hot mixtures to cool before filling. The cylindrical surface of the bottle body is available for a label.
The dropper is a dispensing closure, not a leak-tight closure intended for transport. When sending products to customers, check the seal on the specific formulation, especially with thin oils and alcohol-based blends.
Closures with the same neck type (listed in the parameters) and ready-made container and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and container behaviour with the specific formulation. After use, the glass bottle should go into glass recycling; the dropper consists of multiple materials and should be sorted separately according to its components.
