Product description
The black glossy glass medicine bottle, 10 ml, with a white matte dropper is used for filling small volumes of cosmetics that are dispensed by the drop. The opaque black glass protects the contents from light, so it suits facial oils, oil serums, essential oil blends diluted in a carrier oil and concentrated active ingredients. The white dropper on black glass clearly distinguishes individual bottles on a shelf, even when you have many different preparations.
The set is supplied as a bottle and a dropper with the same thread, so there is nothing to buy separately or match up. The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a threaded plastic ring. The length of the dropper matches the height of the bottle.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial oils and oil serums – the dropper lets you apply a precise few drops to the face or palm without spilling.
- Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – the small volume and dark glass suit samples and test doses that are used up quickly.
- Concentrates of active ingredients – for ingredients that are added to a formulation in small amounts, the dropper helps you measure without a scale.
- Samples and miniatures – a volume of 10 ml is enough for a trial batch or for a pack for a customer who wants to try the product first.
Thick creams, balms and butters do not belong in the dropper. The glass tube has a narrow diameter and thick contents cannot be drawn up through it. For water-based preparations that are applied by spraying, packaging with a sprayer is more suitable.
Filling and dispensing
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, that is, the volume it is intended for in normal use. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which pushes part of the contents upwards once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. If you fill the bottle to the brim, the contents will overflow through the thread when the dropper is fitted.
Because the liquid level cannot be seen through black glass, fill by volume or weight, not by eye. For oils, a small funnel or a syringe without a needle works well. The thread stays clean and the dropper then seals better.
When dispensing, squeeze the bulb before dipping the tube into the contents, then release it and let the tube draw up the liquid. After use, screw the dropper on firmly. A loosely fitted dropper does not seal and the contents will spill if the bottle is knocked over.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely so that no residual water gets into the oil. After thorough washing, the set can be reused. The silicone bulb and the glass tube are washed separately. Oil residues in the bulb are harder to remove, so rinse it several times.
The glass withstands normal temperatures during filling, but sudden changes in temperature may damage the bottle. Let hot mixtures cool before filling, at least to a temperature at which the glass can be held comfortably in the hand. For pure undiluted essential oils and alcohol-based preparations, we recommend first checking the compatibility with the silicone bulb on a small amount.
The bottle alone has a certificate for direct contact with food; the dropper does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics, not for food purposes.
The set is declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is provided with the product. Closures with the same neck type given in the parameters and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation. The bottle is recycled as glass, while the dropper combines glass, plastic and silicone, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
