Product description
This set of a glossy black glass bottle with a capacity of 30 ml and a white matte dropper is designed for liquid preparations that are dispensed drop by drop. Black glass does not let light through, so the contents are not exposed to daylight even when left standing on a shelf or in the bathroom for a longer time. The set is especially suitable for face serums, oil serums for the face and hair, blends of essential oils in a carrier oil, tinctures and concentrates of active ingredients, where measuring out a small amount matters.
The whole set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct food contact, the dropper does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.
How the set works
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a plastic threaded head that screws directly onto the neck of the bottle. Squeezing the bulb draws in the contents, and releasing it dispenses them drop by drop. This type of dispensing suits preparations with a higher concentration of active ingredients or essential oils. With thin oils and alcohol solutions, we recommend checking the leak-tightness of the closure after filling, for example by turning the bottle upside down for a few minutes.
The white matte surface of the dropper contrasts with the glossy black bottle, so the set looks uniform even without any additional decoration. Closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters, and other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range.
Nominal and brimful volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume, stated in the parameters, is the physical capacity of the glass up to the top of the neck. The difference between them leaves room for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the contents when screwed in, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes.
Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the neck is full, the contents will overflow when the dropper is screwed in and seep into the thread.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the dropper tube would get into an anhydrous serum or oil.
- Glass and heat – do not pour hot contents into the bottle and avoid sudden changes in temperature. Let emulsions and oils cool to room temperature before filling.
- Essential oils and solvents – the silicone bulb comes into contact with the contents every time it draws them in. With concentrated essential oils, alcohol tinctures and solvents, we recommend checking how the bulb behaves with the specific blend.
- Repeated use – the glass bottle can be refilled repeatedly after washing and disinfection. Replace the dropper if the bulb hardens, changes colour or stops holding suction.
- Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper combines glass, silicone and plastic, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
