Before each new filling it is necessary to clean the packaging thoroughly, remove residues of the original product and then disinfect it with a suitable preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after completely drying is the bottle ready for reuse. When changing the type of product (e.g. from perfume to facial serum) it is particularly important to ensure thorough cleaning in order to avoid undesirable mixing of fragrances or components.

Before reuse it is appropriate to first rinse the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleansing agent intended for hand washing, using a brush if necessary to remove product residues. After thoroughly rinsing with clean water, allow the bottle to drain and dry. Then perform disinfection of the packaging, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol – we recommend the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After applying the disinfecting alcohol, let the packaging dry completely at room temperature and refill it only afterwards.

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and with the information stated in the product parameters for the specific packaging. Glass parts can usually be placed in containers intended for glass, and it is advisable to remove any product residues and separate possible plastic or metal components of the closure or dispenser according to their material. Before recycling it is appropriate to rinse the packaging in order to minimize cosmetic residues in the waste system.
