The glass jar with aluminium lid represents a practical and hygienic packaging solution for smaller amounts of creams, ointments, balms or other concentrated blends, where the stability and protection of the formulation are important. Thanks to the combination of durable glass and a solid metal closure, it is suitable for filling viscous and semi-liquid products that require reliable sealing and convenient handling during everyday use.
The glass container is ideal for home-made and professional formulations where it is necessary to minimise interaction between the packaging and the contents. The smooth inner surface facilitates thorough emptying, cleaning and repeated filling, which makes it a sustainable choice for manufacturers of cosmetics, herbal preparations and small artisan workshops.
Combinations of containers and closures that are created directly at Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), so that you can be sure that the chosen packaging system meets your specific requirements in practice.
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass jar can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based, so that the container is prepared for safe reuse.
The jar is particularly effective for thicker and concentrated preparations where easy access to the contents with fingers or a spatula is needed. These include, for example, lip balms, rich creams, herbal and ointment bases, whipped butters, solid perfume or preparations intended for local application. The smooth inner walls make it easier to scoop out the product and to almost completely empty the jar.
First remove residues of the original product mechanically (spatula, paper towel), then wash the jar in lukewarm water with a suitable detergent. After thorough rinsing, allow both the glass and the lid to dry completely. Before refilling, it is recommended to disinfect both components with alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After the alcohol has evaporated, the container is ready for further use.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it according to the material type indicated in the product parameters. After removing any remaining contents, place the glass part of the jar into a container intended for glass. The metal lid should be separated into metal waste collection, if such containers are available in your municipality. Before recycling, it is advisable to rinse the packaging at least roughly to minimise product residues. Always adapt specific recycling recommendations to the symbols and material information given with the product.
The simplest way is to use the advanced filter in the packaging categories. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or medicine bottles), you will find advanced filtering options at the top of the page, where you can choose a combination of parameters according to your needs. You can filter by neck type, size, colour and packaging material, which allows you to quickly narrow down the selection to suitable containers for a specific formulation or product line.
Yes, the smaller glass jar with metal lid is practical for samples, promo packaging and travel quantities of products. The tight closure helps protect the contents during transport and the smaller volume allows customers to try the product before purchasing the full-size pack. It is also suitable for assembling personal travel sets, where you can decant or take out a portion of your favourite cream or balm.
