The glass bottle with safety cap represents a reliable packaging material for formulas that require precise handling, controlled dosing and safe storage. The dark glass helps protect more sensitive contents from light, making the packaging suitable for products containing plant extracts, oils or aromatic components. The ribbed safety closure with a safety mechanism also supports a professional appearance and reduces the risk of unintentional opening during storage or transport.
The glass bottles in this category are designed to be compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters – for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), so that you can be sure of correct functionality for your particular product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass bottle is suitable for a wide range of liquid formulations, including lighter oils and medium-viscosity blends. For very thick products we recommend testing the combination with the specific closure or dispenser (e.g. dropper, applicator) and verifying whether the dosing is smooth and comfortable. Before final filling it is always advisable to make a trial batch so that you can be sure of correct flow and sealing.
The glass packaging can be reused provided that hygiene principles are observed, but it is always important to ensure thorough cleaning. Before each new filling, the bottle and cap must be mechanically cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection we recommend products available in our e-shop – IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after the packaging has completely dried is it appropriate to proceed to refilling, ideally with a product of a similar character (e.g. oil after oil), in order to minimize the risk of affecting the fragrance or colour.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material types indicated in the product parameters on the website. The glass part of the bottle can usually be sorted into the glass container after emptying and basic rinsing, while the plastic or composite closure belongs in the appropriate container for plastics or mixed packaging, according to local waste sorting rules. Before recycling always separate the glass packaging from the cap and follow the material labelling and the recommendations of your municipality or city.
Reliable sealing is influenced by the compatibility of the bottle neck and the closure, the tightness of the cap and also by the composition of the fill itself. We recommend first testing the combination on a small amount of product – fill the bottle, close it properly and leave it for a certain time lying on its side and also upside down to check whether any leakage occurs. For formulations with a higher alcohol content, essential oils or very low viscosity, test runs are particularly important. If necessary, also check the sealing element inside the cap (if it is part of the closure) and replace it if visible wear appears.
To make it easier to find suitable packaging you can use the advanced filter, which is available at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or dispensers). In the advanced filter you can clearly set the parameters according to your requirements – in particular the type and size of the neck, the overall size of the packaging, the colour and the material. Thanks to the combination of these criteria you will easily find packaging that best suits your product in terms of design, functionality and compatibility.
