HDPE packaging is intended primarily for filling products at normal or slightly elevated temperatures that are safe for this material. For hot or freshly cooked mixtures, we recommend first allowing the contents to cool down and only then filling them into the bottle. Always verify the exact limits for temperature and product type in the packaging quality certificate and in the product parameters, and perform your own test run before serial production.

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed, but we recommend keeping the same type of product (for example always only water-based cosmetics). Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable, available in the raw materials category: IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol 1 l and Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný 1 l. When changing the type of filling or in case of any doubts, we recommend replacing the packaging with a new one.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend first emptying it as much as possible of any product residues. Then follow the material designation and recycling symbol indicated in the product parameters and on the packaging itself. According to this marking, you will sort the bottle into the appropriate separated waste stream (most often the container for plastic). In the case of a combination of different materials (for example plastic bottle and a different type of closure), it is ideal to separate the individual parts before throwing them into the container, if possible.

This enables you to quickly choose packaging that best matches the needs of your product as well as your design and functionality requirements.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important to match the neck type, the length of the dip tube and the nature of the product itself (viscosity, oil-based or water-based system, alcohol content). The combinations offered directly with the product on Handymade are tested, however we still recommend carrying out your own test – verify whether the closure seals properly, whether the dosing corresponds to the intended use, and whether the material of both the closure and the bottle reacts appropriately with your specific formulation.
