The bottle with dispenser is designed primarily for liquid and free‑flowing preparations such as tonics, light face and body milks or oil blends with lower viscosity. With thicker creams and balms, dispensing may be less smooth, so we recommend testing the behaviour of the specific formulation in advance and, if necessary, choosing a more suitable type of packaging or closure from the Handymade range.

The packaging can be reused provided that hygiene principles are followed. Before each refilling, the bottle and the dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to prevent microbial contamination or undesirable reactions between residues of the previous product and the new formulation. For disinfection, we recommend using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant‑based, which are commonly used when preparing cosmetic packaging for refilling.

For cleaning the packaging, we recommend using lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent suitable for hand washing. Avoid abrasive sponges and aggressive chemicals that could damage the surface of the bottle or the seals of the dispenser. After washing, rinse the bottle thoroughly, allow it to dry completely and then disinfect it, ideally using a suitable alcohol. For the dispenser, it is advisable to pump through clean water, or a disinfectant solution, several times in order to remove residues of the original product.

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend, after thoroughly emptying and rinsing it, placing it in separate collection according to local rules for metal packaging. Aluminium is among the well‑recyclable materials, so sorting it is more environmentally friendly than ordinary municipal waste. The plastic dispenser should be separated from the metal part and sorted according to the local system for plastic collection. Always adapt the specific method of recycling to the information given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website and to the recommendations of your waste collection company.
