The aluminium jar with lid is a practical and visually attractive packaging material suitable for filling various solid and creamy formulations. Thanks to its compact design and secure screw closure, it is ideal for travel sizes, samples and final products. The metal surface supports the professional appearance of the product and at the same time helps protect the contents from external influences.
The jar is suitable for packing creams, ointments, balms, waxes, solid perfumes or scrubs, as well as smaller portions of powder or loose blends. The opaque packaging helps reduce the exposure of the contents to light, which can contribute to the stability of sensitive ingredients. Thanks to the sturdy construction and screw cap, the packaging is also well suited for frequent carrying in a handbag or cosmetic pouch.
The combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – in particular for tightness, dosing (for combined sets) and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (pH, alcohol content, oil phase, etc.). This will ensure reliable use, long-term product stability and a professional result in the final packaging.
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The aluminium jar is a commonly used packaging for natural and conventional cosmetics, especially for balms, ointments, waxes and solid perfumes. Before final launch for sale, we recommend performing your own compatibility test with the specific formula (particularly in the case of a high content of essential oils or alcohol) in order to verify the behaviour, stability and appearance of the product over time.
The jar can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, it is important to clean the packaging thoroughly and then disinfect it in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection you can use, for example, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol available in the Handymade range: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. After disinfection, allow the packaging to dry thoroughly before refilling it.
It is advisable to fill the contents into a clean and disinfected jar while observing hygiene principles – ideally using clean spatulas, filling bottles or dosing devices. When filling hot blends, it is important to follow the recommendations of the formula and not to exceed temperatures at which undesirable changes in the product could occur. Do not overfill the jar to the rim, so that there is space for comfortable closing of the lid without forcing out the contents.
If you decide not to use the jar further, we recommend first emptying it and removing any product residues (by wiping or rinsing with a suitable cleaning agent). You can then place it into sorted collection according to the recycling symbol specified in the product parameters. Aluminium packaging is usually collected in the container intended for metals. Recycling rules may differ depending on the municipality, so it is advisable to check the local recommendations of your recycling centre or waste collection provider.
You can find suitable packaging most quickly using the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or dropper bottles), you will find the filter at the top of the page. You can combine several parameters at once – for example neck type, size, colour or packaging material. This way you will quickly narrow down the offer to only those packages that meet your requirements in terms of design and functionality.
