Dark glass helps protect the content from light, which is advantageous for products sensitive to oxidation, for example for oils with a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids or for serums with active ingredients. The suitability of the packaging for a specific formulation must always be verified by your own stability and compatibility test, ideally under the conditions in which the product will actually be used and stored.

The glass bottle can be reused provided that strict hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol (products available in the category, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný). Reuse is recommended only if you are certain that no residues of the original product or cleaning agents remain in the packaging and that there is no mixing-up of products of different types (e.g. cosmetics vs. food).

First mechanically remove the remaining product, then rinse the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent and clean water. After thorough drying, it is advisable to carry out disinfection with alcohol – for example by using preparations based on isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, such as the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol and Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. Disinfection helps to minimise microbial contamination and reduces the risk of deterioration of the new contents. Before final filling, make sure that no residues of the disinfectant remain in the packaging, where the nature of the new product does not allow it.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend disposing of it in sorted waste according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle is usually thrown into the container designated for glass, while the closure may be made of a different material (for example plastic or a combination of materials), so it is advisable to separate it before disposal and sort it according to local waste collection rules. Before recycling, it is always good to at least lightly rinse the packaging so that no larger residues of product remain.
