The bottle can be reused in normal use as long as its mechanical integrity and the functionality of the closure are preserved. For each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection, we recommend using appropriate alcohol solutions, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol available in the Handymade range: IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, let the inner walls of the bottle dry completely and only then fill it with a new product.

The bottle made from PET material is intended for use at normal room temperatures and slightly elevated temperatures. Do not expose it to high temperatures, for example by drying it on a radiator, keeping it near sources of intense heat or leaving it in a closed car in direct sunlight. There is a risk of deformation of the packaging and deterioration of the closure tightness. PET is not suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher or for boiling; for cleaning use lukewarm water with a mild detergent followed by rinsing, and for disinfection use alcohol solutions intended for this purpose.

When changing the type of product (for example from an aqueous phase to an oil phase or when switching to another formulation), always first clean the bottle mechanically – rinse it thoroughly with warm water and a mild cleaning agent and carefully remove all residues of the original contents. Then rinse the bottle with clean water and disinfect it with a suitable alcohol solution, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol 96%. After disinfection, let the packaging dry completely at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and only then use it for a new product.

If you decide not to use the bottle any longer, we recommend first emptying it and, if possible, rinsing off product residues. Then place the packaging made from PET material into the appropriate sorted container for plastics in accordance with local recycling rules. Before discarding, you can unscrew the closure so that the individual parts can be processed separately if the sorting system allows it. By following the recommendations resulting from the material designation in the product parameters on Handymade, you ensure that the packaging is directed into the correct recycling stream and its environmental impact is thereby reduced.
