The packaging can be reused provided basic hygiene rules are followed. Before each refilling, thoroughly rinse the bottle and all parts of the spray mechanism, remove residues of the previous contents and allow them to be mechanically cleaned of visible impurities. We then recommend disinfecting the packaging with a suitable alcohol solution – for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant‑based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely at room temperature and only then refill the bottle.

The spray applicator is ideal for low‑viscosity, free‑flowing solutions such as hydrolats, floral waters, toners, air fresheners, hair tonics or gentle cleaning solutions. It allows you to create a fine aerosol and apply the contents evenly onto the skin, hair, fabrics or into the room. Thick, highly viscous emulsions or oils may not be suitable for this type of dispensing – in such a case we recommend considering a pump applicator or another dispensing format from the Handymade packaging range.

For trouble‑free functioning of the sprayer, use suitably filtered solutions without larger undissolved particles that could clog the nozzle or the dip tube. After filling the bottle, always check that the thread is properly tightened and that all parts are correctly seated. For long‑term use, it is recommended to occasionally flush the mechanism with clean water or a suitable solution and, when changing the type of product, to carry out complete cleaning and disinfection. If the spraying performance decreases, it is often sufficient to clean the nozzle and press the pump several times with a clean liquid.

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the rules given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. The glass part of the bottle can usually be placed, after removing product residues and labels, into the container for separated glass waste. The spray cap and plastic components must be separated and, depending on the material used, placed in the appropriate separated collection or in municipal waste if the local sorting system requires this. Before recycling, we recommend rinsing the packaging at least roughly so that no residues of active substances or aromatic blends remain in it.
