Before the first filling we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle (rinsing it with a suitable cleaning agent and thoroughly rinsing with water) and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcoholic solution. For disinfection you can use isopropyl alcohol or ethanol in technical grade intended for this purpose, for example products available on Handymade in the disinfectant raw materials category. After treatment, allow the interior and the cap to dry completely at room temperature and only then fill the container.

The packaging can be used repeatedly provided that basic hygiene principles are followed and thorough cleaning is carried out between individual uses. Before each new filling, the bottle and the closure must be cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcoholic preparation, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 denatured plant-based available on Handymade. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely so that no residual moisture or unwanted residues of the cleaning agent enter the product.

The glass bottle is particularly suitable for concentrated liquid formulations where precise application and protection of the contents are important – for example facial and hair serums, oil blends, essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, drop solutions or trial batches in smaller volumes. Thanks to the transparent glass it is also practical for products where you want to see the colour or clarity of the fill (for example tinctures or development samples).

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information provided in the product parameters. The glass bottle is usually assigned to the recyclable glass fraction, and it is advisable to empty it and remove product residues. A cap made of another material (for example plastic or composite material) should be sorted according to the material designation in the parameter table. Before handing over for recycling, sterilisation is not necessary, ordinary rinsing and separation of the individual packaging components is sufficient.
