The glass bottle is generally suitable for formulations containing alcohol and essential oils, since glass has very good chemical resistance. However, we always recommend performing your own test with the specific composition – filling a smaller amount of product, checking the functionality of the spray pump, the sealing and the long-term behaviour of the packaging during storage. With a high proportion of essential oils, pay particular attention to viscosity and the smoothness of spraying.

The packaging can be reused provided that correct hygiene practices are followed. Before each refilling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely and only then refill the container. When changing the type of product (for example from a cleaning spray to a facial toner), we recommend even more thorough washing, rinsing and disinfection, to prevent unwanted mixing of residues of the original formulation with the new one.

Before re-use, we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, then rinsing well with clean water and leaving it to drain. It is advisable to “pump through” the spray pump several times with clean water to remove residues of the original product from the tube and the mechanism. After washing, we recommend disinfecting the internal surfaces and the spray pump using alcohol – for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. After applying the alcohol, allow all parts to dry thoroughly at room temperature. Only then refill the bottle.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is advisable to recycle it responsibly according to the material types stated in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle, once emptied and rinsed, should be disposed of in the container designated for glass (usually green or white, depending on local rules). The plastic spray pump and any other plastic components belong in the plastics container, unless local waste collection specifies otherwise. Before recycling, we recommend removing any product residues and any labels, in order to simplify sorting and waste processing.
