Matte black glass jar + plastic lid represents an aesthetic and practical packaging solution suitable for smaller quantities of cream, gel or loose products. Thanks to the solid glass container and the precisely fitting plastic closure, the contents are well protected from contact with air and from normal handling during storage and use.
The slightly opaque matte glass helps to naturally limit light penetration to more sensitive formulations, which supports the stability of fragrance, colour and consistency. The packaging is suitable for liquid and semi-liquid products with a thicker texture, as well as for fine powder blends where convenient application and thorough protection of the contents are important.
The packaging and closure combinations that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass jar is suitable for creamy, gel and loose cosmetic products that are dispensed with fingers or a spatula. The solid container and precisely fitting lid help to maintain the consistency, fragrance and appearance of the fill under proper storage conditions and when basic hygiene principles are observed during use.
The jar can be reused as long as it is mechanically intact and you observe basic hygiene principles. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly washed, all residues of the original product removed, and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol, for example using the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 denatured plant-based. For disinfection you can use preparations available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol 1 l or ethanol 96 denatured plant-based 1 l. Only after thorough drying is the jar ready for new filling.
First, remove product residues mechanically (with a spatula or paper towel), then wash the jar in warm water with a suitable detergent and rinse well. Clean the plastic lid more gently so as not to damage the sealing surfaces. After washing, allow the packaging to dry completely, and before the next filling disinfect it with alcohol, for example IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol 1 l or ethanol 96 denatured plant-based 1 l. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination of the new product.
Before recycling, it is advisable to remove product residues from both the jar and the lid. The glass container is sorted according to the recommendations given in the product parameters – usually into the container designated for glass in accordance with local waste-sorting rules. The plastic lid is sorted separately into the appropriate plastics container, provided the local collection system allows this. We recommend following the recycling symbols and the information in the parameter table on the product page on Handymade so that sorting is in line with your waste management requirements.
The simplest way to choose is to use the advanced filter in the relevant packaging category. After clicking on the category (for example bottles, jars or dropper bottles), you will find a filtering option at the top of the page where you can select the desired parameters – specifically the neck type, size, colour and packaging material. By combining these filters, you can quickly display only those packages that suit your formulation and visual concept.
