Product description

French pink cosmetic clay is a natural mineral raw material with INCI Montmorillonite, Illite, Kaolin. It is obtained by mining natural deposits, then mechanically purified, dried and finely milled into a powder. No perfumes or colorants are used during production – the pink coloration is natural and results from the mineral composition and the ratio of the individual clays.
In cosmetics it is used mainly for gentle cleansing and a mattifying effect, while in formulations it also serves as a mineral filler that improves the “drier” skin feel.

• Compatible with: emulsions and surfactant systems (as a solid phase); for a more pleasant feel in masks it is often combined with humectants (e.g. glycerin).
• Technological tip: for a smooth consistency, sieve the powder and incorporate gradually; first disperse it into a slurry in a smaller amount of liquid and only then add the remainder.

Safety and storage

• Avoid inhaling fine dust; when working with the powder, work slowly and in a well-ventilated area.
• Avoid contact with eyes; in case of eye contact, rinse with water.
• Store in a dry place and in a tightly closed container so that the raw material does not absorb moisture and odors from the surroundings.
• For sensitive skin, choose a shorter mask application time and follow with hydration.

Physical properties

• Appearance: fine pink powder (natural mineral coloration).
• Powder fineness: typically 90 % < 100 μm, 100 % < 150 μm.
• Behavior in formulations: in low-viscosity systems it may sediment over time – appropriate thickening or use in products with higher viscosity is helpful.
