Can this bottle be used repeatedly?

The packaging can be used repeatedly with proper handling and maintenance. However, before each new filling, the bottle and the trigger sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection, we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. On Handymade you can find, for example, the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, which are intended for technical disinfection of packaging surfaces before filling.

Is this plastic bottle suitable for the dishwasher or for boiling?

The plastic material used for this type of packaging should not be exposed to high temperatures. When in contact with hot water, steam or when boiling, the bottle may deform or the sealing of the trigger sprayer may deteriorate. Therefore, we do not recommend washing the packaging in the dishwasher or using thermal sterilization. For cleaning and disinfection, it is suitable to use lukewarm water with detergent and then an alcohol-based disinfectant according to the instructions for use.

How should I correctly fill the bottle with trigger sprayer so that it sprays well?

Before filling, we recommend cleaning and disinfecting the bottle and the spraying mechanism, and then allowing them to dry completely. When filling, leave a slight reserve below the neck so that the dip tube has sufficient space and so that overfilling does not occur, which could affect the spraying function. More viscous or too thick preparations can reduce the quality of the spray pattern, therefore it is advisable to choose formulations with a more liquid consistency. After screwing on the sprayer, we recommend testing the dosing several times and, if necessary, adjusting the viscosity or composition of the preparation.

How can I dispose of or recycle this bottle in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the bottle or the trigger sprayer any longer, we recommend first emptying them and, if possible, rinsing out product residues. The method of recycling depends on the type of plastic indicated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website – according to the relevant recycling symbol, place the packaging in the correct separate collection stream (for example, in the container intended for plastics). The trigger sprayer may consist of several plastic and metal components, so follow the local rules for waste sorting; if it is not possible to separate the individual parts, classify it as plastic waste according to the recommendation of your collection system.
