The bottle can be used repeatedly if correct hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the packaging, ideally with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol intended for this purpose. For disinfection, you can use for example products such as IPA 99 % – Isopropyl alkohol or Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After disinfection, all parts must be allowed to dry completely in order to minimise the risk of contamination of the new fill.

Clean the bottle and the trigger sprayer with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent, then rinse several times thoroughly with clean water. Before re-use, it is advisable to disinfect the packaging with a suitable alcohol-based preparation and allow it to dry completely. When rinsing the sprayer, we recommend pressing the trigger several times so that the cleaning and disinfecting liquid reaches the entire mechanism. Avoid using very hot water and aggressive chemicals, which could shorten the service life of the material or affect the functionality of the sprayer.

This plastic packaging is not intended for contact with hot liquids or for thermal sterilisation processes such as boiling. High temperatures may lead to deformation of the bottle and the sprayer and negatively affect their tightness and functionality. Washing in a dishwasher is also not recommended, as it involves elevated temperatures and stronger cleaning agents. To ensure hygiene, it is more appropriate to combine gentle mechanical cleaning with lukewarm water with subsequent disinfection with alcohol and thorough drying.

When filling, leave sufficient free volume in the upper part of the bottle so that the air allows correct suction of the liquid through the dip tube. We do not recommend pouring thick or very viscous preparations into the packaging, as these may impair spraying or clog the nozzle. After filling, close the bottle with the trigger sprayer, tighten the thread and press the trigger several times as a test so that the mechanism fills with liquid and creates an even spray pattern. If possible, direct the first test sprays away from sensitive surfaces and textiles.

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend emptying it and rinsing out any residues of the contents before disposal. Always adapt the method of recycling and sorting to the information given in the product parameters for the specific packaging on the Handymade website, where the material type and the recommended recycling method are also stated. In general, plastic packaging is sorted into the appropriate container for plastic waste, unless local sorting rules provide otherwise. If the packaging consists of several materials (for example a plastic bottle and a mechanical sprayer), it is advisable to separate the individual parts where possible and sort them separately.
