Making homemade cream

We will describe in more detail the procedure for making a stiffer cream for dry skin and a light face cream for skin 25+.

Before we get into the actual formulations of the recipes, it is necessary to explain some theoretical information. The recipe or cosmetically speaking the formulation is good to have listed in percentages. It's like baking, you also need to stick to exact quantities. Then you can easily calculate multiples or fractional quantities from it. It is also equally important to follow the different stages or procedures in production. Each step in the production process is designed to ensure the correct quality of the final product. If the procedure is not followed, it can lead to products that are not completely satisfactory to us.

PRODUCTION OF HOMEMADE CREAM - FORMULATION STAGES

stage A	tends to be an oil phase - contains oil soluble ingredients
phase B	is therefore an aqueous phase - it contains water soluble ingredients
phase C	contains ingredients which are additives and the higher temperature of the mixture does not cause the nutritional properties of the ingredients to deteriorate
phase D	contains mostly ingredients that are sensitive to higher temperatures, i.e. they could lose their nutritional properties, and are therefore only added when the mixture is approximately below 40 ̊C, or it is a good idea to know the sensitive temperature limits of the ingredients you use and to add them only after this limit has been reached
phase C and D	if phases C and D form a dry mixture, don't worry that you have the wrong recipe and feel free to take a smaller amount of glycerine or hydrolates from the aqueous phase to ensure a homogeneous mass of both phases - it is best to add a liquid or gel-like consistency to the emulsion , otherwise you risk lumps

PRODUCTION OF HOMEMADE CREAM PRODUCTION PROCEDURE

1.	Weigh the individual ingredients and then prepare the stages separately. The phases will be added gradually.
2.	You can also combine several emulsifiers in the formulation or add so-called co-emulsifiers (these are mainly purely natural emulsifiers such as beeswax, lanolin, soya or sunflower lecithin, which are not strong enough on their own to ground the mixture sufficiently, but are very nutritious and ensure an excellent final consistency of the cream). As you can see, we even used 4 types of emulsifiers in our recipe - lanolin, beeswax, Olivem1000 and cetyl alcohol.
3.	Phase A is mixed with phase B, going through the process of vigorous whisking with a whisk (we've found that a good swing of the hand is necessary to create a good emulsion :-) the emulsifier won't do it all on its own, so feel freeto use a kitchen mixer). This process can also be done in a cool water bath to speed up the emulsion formation and the setting of the cream.
4.	Once you get the right consistency, add phase C, which also needs to be mixed thoroughly.
5.	Fill the mixture into the cups, let it stand and it can be applied.

LIGHT FACE CREAM

Basically, keeping the same procedure as the previous cream, we can also make a light face cream suitable for mature skin 25+.
