Cetyl alcohol is an emulsifier made from coconut. It was discovered in 1817 as a waxy substance that is an excellent emulsifier, softener and thickener. It is rightly one of the most widely used non-toxic raw materials for cosmetics.

Anemulsifier is a substance that enables a homogeneous mixture to be formed from otherwise immiscible liquids, such as water and oil. The addition of an emulsifier to a mixture of water and oil produces an emulsion. These are, for example, creams, body lotions, shaving emulsions, make-up removing oils and anything containing oil and water.

The cetyl alcohol is heated to 60 - 70 °C in the oil phase. Make sure it's completely dissolved, otherwise you may be left with grains in your final product - and you definitely don't want that.
Don't be afraid to use it in your body lotions and creams, body butters, cleansing lotions and face masks, scrubs, shower gels, shampoos and conditioners.

Dosage: 0 - 6% (maximum dosage is 40%)
pH formulation: 3 - 6 (5% solution)
