The glass bottle with ribbed safety cap is a practical packaging material suitable for liquid and drop formulations where precise handling and secure closure of the contents are important. High-quality glass helps maintain the stability of formulations and, in combination with a safety cap, reduces the risk of unintentional opening during storage and transport. Thanks to this, this bottle is suitable for professional and hobby use in the production of cosmetics and other specialized preparations.
This packaging is supplied as a separate bottle that is compatible with various types of caps and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators), depending on the parameters selected at purchase. Combinations of packaging and caps created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, dosing behaviour and stability of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, oil, alcohol or acid content).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the bottle is also suitable for smaller and newly starting projects. Glass is a stable and user-friendly material, and the ribbed safety cap makes handling easier and minimises the risk of unintentional opening. Thanks to the smaller volume, it is suitable for testing new formulations, for samples for customers and for limited product editions. When producing your own cosmetics, we always recommend performing a trial filling to check the dosing and behaviour of the specific formulation in this type of packaging.
The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is essential to thoroughly clean the bottle and cap and then disinfect them, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, leave all parts to dry completely at room temperature. In case of visible damage to the glass or cap (cracks, deformations, worn threads), do not reuse the packaging for safety reasons and choose a new piece.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and the information given in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade website. The glass bottle can generally be placed in the container designated for glass after thorough emptying and basic rinsing of product residues. The cap made of plastic or composite materials is sorted according to the pictogram and material marking in the product parameters – it usually belongs in the container for plastic waste. Before sorting, it is advisable to separate the glass and the cap so that the recycling facilities can process them correctly.
When filling, pay particular attention to the cleanliness and viscosity of the product. The bottle and cap must be clean and disinfected before use in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. For very thin or, on the contrary, very thick preparations, we recommend a trial filling of a smaller amount to check whether the contents pour well and whether the cap seals reliably. After filling, close the bottle by tightening evenly but not excessively, then turn it upside down and check whether the contents leak in the area of the thread and seal. For formulations with a higher proportion of alcohol, acids or essential oils, it is always advisable to carry out a short stability test under real storage conditions.
To choose suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or caps). In the filter you can easily set the required packaging parameters – in particular the type and diameter of the neck, overall size, colour and material. Thanks to this, you will quickly find only those packages that correspond to your formulation and brand design. In case of doubt, it is worth comparing several products within one category and adapting the choice to the planned dosing method as well (dropper, spray head, classic cap).
