The glass roll-on bottle represents a professional packaging solution for formulations where precise, hygienic and localized application of the product to the skin is important. Thanks to the glass used, it is suitable for filling various liquid and slightly viscous blends that require reliable protection against external influences and comfortable everyday use. The matte glass also supports the aesthetic appearance of the final product and helps protect the contents from excessive light exposure, which is especially desirable for light-sensitive components.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
We recommend filling the contents of the bottle using a pipette, a small measuring cup or a funnel so that space remains in the upper part for the roll-on insert and an air cushion. After filling, insert the roll-on mechanism vertically, press it in firmly according to the procedure recommended by the manufacturer and only then screw on the closure. Before placing the product on the market, it is advisable to test several pieces in everyday use (carrying in a handbag, storage upright and lying down) in order to verify sealing and smooth application.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each refilling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. At the same time, we recommend not using the same packaging for completely different types of blends (for example from a perfume oil to a treatment serum without a thorough sanitation procedure), in order to prevent undesired transfer of fragrance or residues of active substances.
The smooth gliding of the roll-on ball depends on the viscosity of the formulation as well as on the correct installation of the mechanism. Textures that are too thick or gel-like may hinder an even flow, so it is advisable to test the final consistency before filling a larger series. After assembling the roll-on system, check that the ball moves freely and turn the bottle several times so that it becomes saturated with product before first use. When developing the formula, it is a good idea to try several prototypes and, for each of them, verify behaviour in this particular type of packaging.
Glass is a durable but brittle material, so we recommend storing the bottles in a dry, clean environment, ideally in the original cardboard shipping boxes or in stands that prevent impact and tipping over. Avoid sudden thermal shocks and drops onto hard surfaces. For finished products, it is advisable to inform the end customer not to open the bottle by force, not to leave it without a closure and not to strike the roll-on mechanism against sharp edges, which will extend the service life of the entire packaging system.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is appropriate to recycle it according to the type of material stated in the parameters of the specific product. The glass body of the bottle is usually placed in the container intended for packaging glass, while the plastic or metal parts of the closure and the roll-on mechanism belong in the appropriate separated waste stream according to their marking. Before recycling, it is ideal to remove product residues by rinsing and to separate the individual parts of the packaging so that they can be efficiently processed in the collection system in your region.
To select suitable packaging, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging material category. In the filter you can easily choose parameters such as neck type, size, colour or material and thus narrow down the offer only to packaging that meets your technical and design requirements. We recommend starting in the general category of bottles or roll-on packaging and then combining several filters until you find the ideal solution for your specific formulation.
