Yes, the packaging can be reused if handled correctly and if hygiene rules are followed. However, before each new filling it is essential to thoroughly clean and disinfect both the bottle and the spray dispenser. For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which are available in our range. By rinsing and drying the packaging you reduce the risk of microbial contamination and ensure safer use for subsequent fillings.

First empty the bottle and the spray dispenser and rinse them with a suitable cleaning solution or with warm water and detergent (without using extremely high temperatures). It is then appropriate to carry out disinfection with an alcohol solution – for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % vegetable denatured. After shaking and rinsing with alcohol, allow all parts to dry thoroughly at room temperature. This procedure ensures a higher level of hygiene when the packaging is refilled repeatedly.

Plastic packaging of this type is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. Contact with hot water, steam or washing in a dishwasher can cause deformation of the bottle or damage to the spray mechanism. Boiling or sterilization at high temperatures is also not recommended. Therefore, use lukewarm water and suitable cleaning agents for cleaning and choose alcohol-based disinfectant solutions for disinfection.

In most cases the plastic bottle goes into the container intended for plastic waste. The spray dispenser often contains a combination of several materials (plastic, metal springs) and its sorting follows local rules for collection and recycling. Spray dispensers of this type are optimized for low-viscosity liquids such as aqueous solutions, alcohol sprays or light toners. Thick emulsions, creams or gels may clog the spray dispenser and impair the functionality of the mechanism. For more viscous products we recommend choosing another type of dispensing, for example a pump or a tube, or first testing the behaviour of the specific formulation in a small trial amount in the bottle with spray dispenser.
