Product description

Pomegranate oil (Punica Granatum Seed Oil) is a 100% vegetable oil cold-pressed from the seeds of the fruits of Punica granatum and comes from organic (BIO) production. The gentle pressing method preserves a high content of bioactive substances, especially the precious punicic acid (omega-5), thanks to which the oil is extremely valued in natural and dermal cosmetics for mature, dry and stressed skin.

  • Origin: oil obtained by cold pressing from the seeds of the fruits of Punica granatum.
  • Type of raw material: pure vegetable oil without additives, solvents or preservatives.
  • Character: an intensely regenerating, antioxidant and anti-age oil for demanding skin.
  • Area of use: facial, body and hair cosmetics, luxurious regenerating and protective products.

Active substances and fatty acids

  • Punicic acid (omega-5): the characteristic fatty acid of pomegranate oil, known for strong regenerating, antioxidant and soothing effects.
  • Linoleic acid (omega-6): supports the renewal of the skin barrier, improves hydration and elasticity of the skin.
  • Oleic acid (omega-9): improves spreadability and contributes to the feeling of smooth, nourished skin.
  • Phytosterols and natural antioxidants: contribute to protecting the skin against oxidative stress and external influences.
  • The specific percentage representation of individual fatty acids depends on the origin and batch of the oil; you will find it in the attached certificate.

Key benefits

  • Intensive regeneration: supports skin renewal, is ideal for dry, mature and stressed skin.
  • Anti-age effect: helps improve skin elasticity and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Antioxidant protection: protects the skin against free radicals and negative environmental influences.
  • Support of the skin barrier: suitable for irritated, reddened and sensitive skin.
  • Nourishment and comfort: leaves the skin soft, supple and comfortable without a feeling of excessive greasiness (with proper dosage).
  • Hair care: adds shine and nourishment to dry, damaged and coloured hair, especially in serums and masks.

Suitable for products such as

  • Regenerating facial oils and serums for mature, dry, stressed and sensitive skin.
  • Anti-age creams and emulsions for face, neck and décolleté.
  • Nourishing body oils and butters for dry and stressed skin.
  • Balms for dry areas and lips, where intensive regeneration and protection are required.
  • Hair oils, serums and masks for dry, damaged or coloured hair.
  • Luxurious oil blends in combination with other vegetable oils and active substances.

Use in formulation

  • The oil is suitable to be included in the oil phase of emulsions, oil serums, balms and butters.
  • It is well compatible with most vegetable oils, butters, esters and other lipophilic components.
  • It is miscible with other oils and fats; it is insoluble in water, therefore a suitable emulsifier is needed in emulsions.
  • Indicative dosage: approximately 1–10% in face and body creams and serums; in nourishing balms and butters, higher amounts can also be used according to the desired effect.
  • It is recommended to add it during cooling (at a temperature below 40 °C) in order to preserve sensitive bioactive components.
