Plastic bottle – pharmaceutical bottle with pump is a practical packaging intended for convenient dispensing of various liquid preparations, especially in the field of home and artisan cosmetics. Thanks to the combination of a high-quality plastic body and a functional pump, it is suitable for packaging formulations where a controlled dose and a clean, hygienic application without contact with the remaining contents of the container are important.
The closure with dosing mechanism enables even and repeatable dispensing of emulsions, gels or solutions, which reduces the risk of product contamination during use. The durable plastic material of the pharmaceutical bottle is stable under normal use, protects the stored contents well and, thanks to its low weight, is also suitable for frequent transport or shipping of finished products to customers.
This product represents a combination of bottle and pump closure designed directly in the Handymade range. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – verifying sealing, reliability of dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters. Before choosing the packaging, we recommend studying this information so that the packaging, in terms of material, neck type, compatibility with the contents and intended use, is as well adapted as possible to your formulation and technological process.
Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly for home and artisan use, provided that you observe basic hygiene rules. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle, the pump and all parts that come into contact with the product and to disinfect them. For disinfection it is suitable to use, for example, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol of a quality suitable for cosmetic use, which you can find in our range as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying of all parts is the packaging ready for refilling.
First we recommend rinsing the bottle and the pump with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent to remove residues of the previous formulation. Then it is advisable to rinse the packaging with clean water and let it drain. After mechanical cleaning, disinfection is necessary – you can treat the inside of the bottle, the dip tube and the dosing mechanism, for example, with alcohol-based preparations (e.g. IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). After applying the disinfectant, all parts must be allowed to dry completely in a clean place so that no residues of water or cleaning agent remain in the packaging, which could affect the stability of the new formulation.
To select suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on a particular packaging category (for example bottles, pharmaceutical bottles, jars or pots). In the advanced filter it is possible to combine several parameters at once – in particular the neck type, size, colour and material of the packaging. Thanks to this, you can quickly filter only those containers that correspond to your formulation and the planned method of dosing. For specific projects, it is advisable to compare several options and first order a smaller quantity for testing.
Pump dosing is optimal for liquids and semi-liquid products with low to medium viscosity. It is excellently suited for facial and body milks, cleansing gels, lighter cream emulsions, liquid soaps, toners or micellar waters. For very rich creams or excessively thick gels, impaired suction and dosing may occur, so for new formulations we recommend making a trial batch and verifying whether the pump dispenses the product reliably without clogging or an uneven stream.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend first emptying it as much as possible and removing product residues. Then proceed according to the material information given in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade website – according to the type of plastic, sort the packaging into the appropriate container for recyclable waste in accordance with the rules of your municipality. If the packaging is composed of several types of materials (e.g. the bottle body and the spring in the pump), it is ideal, where possible, to separate them and sort each part according to the respective fraction. In this way, you support effective material recovery and reduce the amount of waste.
