FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this plastic bottle be used repeatedly?

The bottle can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed, especially if you plan to refill it with the same or a similar type of product. Before each new filling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and undesirable changes in your formulations.

How should the bottle be properly cleaned and disinfected before further use?

First rinse the bottle and the disc-top closure with warm water and a mild cleansing agent to remove residues of the original contents. Then thoroughly rinse the container with clean water so that no detergent residues remain. After mechanical cleaning, disinfection with a suitable alcohol is recommended (e.g. IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %), which you apply by rinsing or spraying the interior and the surface. Before refilling, allow the container to dry completely at room temperature.

Is this plastic packaging suitable for the dishwasher or for boiling at high temperatures?

The plastic material of the bottle should not be exposed to high temperatures, as when subjected to hot water or steam there is a risk of deformation of the container and deterioration of the closure’s sealing. For this reason, washing in a dishwasher and boiling are not recommended. For hygienic preparation before filling, it is more appropriate to combine hand washing in slightly warm water with a mild cleansing agent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol.

How should this bottle be properly recycled if I no longer want to use it?

When disposing of the container, it is advisable to follow the material designation given in the product parameters and the recycling symbol on the bottle. After emptying and basic rinsing, the packaging can be placed in the appropriate container for separate collection (usually plastic), and the closure should ideally be recycled together with the bottle body if it is made from the same type of material. Local rules for waste sorting may differ, so we recommend following the instructions of your municipal waste collection system and thereby supporting material recycling.
